So, at the beginning of the game, the score is called as "0 – 0 – 1".<\/p>\n

The serve must be underhand, with the paddle contact point below the waist. The ball must clear the non – volley zone (also known as the "kitchen") and land in the opposing team’s diagonal service court. If the serve is good, the rally begins.<\/p>\n

If the serving team wins the rally on the first serve, they score a point, the server switches sides to the left – hand side (the odd – numbered side), and the score is updated. For example, if the serving team scores a point on the first rally, the score is called "1 – 0 – 1".<\/p>\n

Server Rotation and Second Server<\/h3>\n

In doubles pickleball, each team has two servers per turn. When the first server loses a rally, the serve passes to the second server on the same team. The server number is then changed to 2 when announcing the score. For instance, if the first server loses a rally after the serving team has already scored 2 points while the receiving team has 1 point, the score is called "2 – 1 – 2".<\/p>\n

The second server continues to serve as long as the team wins rallies and scores points. If the second server loses a rally, the serving team loses the serve altogether, and the serve passes to the opposing team. The new serving team then starts with its first server, and the score calls reset to reflect their scoring opportunity.<\/p>\n

For example, some tournaments may have specific tie – breaker rules when the game reaches a certain score. In a tie – breaker, the rules may be adjusted slightly, such as starting the serving sequence differently or having a different point goal for the tie – breaker game.<\/p>\n
